Product: Lumirix® Cream 15 mg/g 100g
Singapore Registration Number: SIN17673P
Approval Date: 3 November 2026
Lumirix® is the first treatment specifically approved in Singapore, for non-segmental vitiligo with facial involvement in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age, representing an important advancement in the management of this chronic autoimmune disease.
Until now, vitiligo treatment options in Singapore have largely relied on off-label therapies such as topical corticosteroids, calcineurin inhibitors, and phototherapy. They have limited success in stopping the spread of vitiligo and encouraging repigmentation. In a prospective questionnaire study was conducted in a large cohort of vitiligo patients that consecutively visited the outpatient clinic of the Amsterdam University Medical Centre between April 2017 and January 2019, 49% reported that the current treatments were not effective and 50% was not satisfied with the current treatments.1,2 Existing topical treatments like potent topical corticosteroids also require regular monitoring by a doctor to prevent side effects.
The approval of Lumirix® helps address a longstanding unmet need by providing physicians with a targeted treatment option developed specifically for patients with non-segmental vitiligo.
