Velphoro®
Product Description
Velphoro is a phosphate binder used in adult and paediatric patients 9 years of age and older to manage hyperphosphatemia (high phosphate levels) in patients with CKD on dialysis, helping to prevent complications associated with elevated phosphorus levels.
Velphoro is a non-calcium, iron based phosphate binder available as chewable tablets. Each tablet contains 500 mg of sucroferric oxyhydroxide. Sucroferric oxyhydroxide works by binding to dietary phosphate in the gastrointestinal tract, forming insoluble complexes that are excreted in the feces; thereby prevents from the absorption into the bloodstream, helping to control serum phosphorus levels.
