Product Description
Valtoco is used as a rescue medication in patients with epilepsy who are 6 years of age and older to provide rapid relief from seizure clusters, helping to prevent the progression of seizures and reduce the need for emergency medical intervention.
Valtoco is available as a nasal spray in dosages of 5 mg, 7.5 mg, or 10 mg of diazepam in 0.1 mL, a benzodiazepine. Diazepam works by enhancing the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that inhibits neuronal activity. This helps to calm abnormal electrical activity in the brain, thereby reducing seizure activity.
